About Us

Our Story

Vulnerable communities have increasingly come under attack in the United States in recent years. To combat these adversarial forces and uplift the oppressed, we founded We Are The Others (WATO), a non-profit which lowers the barrier of entry for charitable support through the use of an innovative online platform and a network of volunteer-led, staff-supported workers.

Our Mission  

To provide a cloud service platform and resource hub that refers individuals to various organizations tailored to their specific needs, at NO COST to the individual seeking aid.

About the Founders


Carl learned the power of service as a child from a family dedicated to uplifting the less fortunate. He is a creative writer who wants to leave the world better than he found it.

Sue has been around the block in more ways than one! Having a very empathetic heart, and being an active listener; Sue invites you to sit down and talk.

AJ has a wide and eclectic range of interests from self help books to Disney. He always tries to spread love, kindness and support to those in need.

Bob looks for innovative solutions in his work and his hobbies. Since his volunteering days at a local Chinese school, he has sough to help others and improve the community around him.

From homeless in high school, to chairing a capital campaign to build a $9.8M student center for her community college (before the age of 21); Mellissa is committed to supporting others and be the type of person her dogs see in her.
